This is a photo of my new baby…a bonsai rhododendron obtusam, to be known as Lin Lin! Chinese name meaning beauty of a tinkling bell.
Why bonsai? Well actually it starts with penjing. While in Canberra recently I visited the Arboretum and saw the National Penjing and Bonsai Collection and of course thought… story!
Bonsai came to Japan from China where it was known as Penjing. My story is called Penjing and Sally is keen to illustrate it, so now, once again, we have to find a publisher who wants to publish it.
This next photo gives an idea of Lin Lin’s size. She is four years old. Wish me luck with keeping her alive.
Nice post
